  • We just finished dinner.  I prepared three dinners for the week.  They were meat loaf and mashed potatoes (which we had tonight), hot dog and bean casserole (I know, very unhealthy), and fried chicken breasts (also unhealthy). With the chicken breasts, I can make a variety of dinners.  We can have chicken parm, lemon chicken or chicken with rice.  Having the chicken gives everyone a variety.

Tuesday I am having oral surgery.  A root canal and extraction :(.  I am so not looking forward to it.  If you think of it, please pray it all goes well.

Last night we were treated to a yummy dinner at http://www.bucadibeppo.com.  My husband helps Ron and Pam with their business computers and they asked us to dinner to thank him.  Two other couples joined us and it was so delicious and fun.  All the rooms are small and cozy that you feel as if you are dining in a quaint restaurant in Italy.  The food is served family style. We had so much to eat; delicious salad (antipasto), crispy garlic bread, Stuffed Mushrooms, and brushetta to start the meal.  For our main course we all shared Spaghetti and Meat Sauce, Veal Marsala, and Chicken stuffed with ham. We finished off the meal with an apple crustine and cheese cake, which was also served family style.  It was a wonderful evening.

I pray everyone has a wonderful, blessed week.

  • Fall Weather & Prayer Request

We are finally scheduled for some Fall weather tomorrow.  On Sunday it'll be down to 61 degrees.  I can't wait.  We have had record temps this October.  Almost every day it's reached 96 degrees.  It's so difficult to be in the mood for Fall, which is my favorite season with these unseasonably warm temperatures.  Finally, tomorrow will be the day I put out my Fall decorations around my home.  I will have to be careful though, with the new puppy, getting bigger daily looking for trouble around the house!  She's basically a sweetie and doesn't cause much damage, however, when I put the decorations around, it may be another story :).

Last Saturday we were invited (with Samantha) to our friends for a bbq.  Our friends have a new puppy also, and they played together all day.  Needless to say, Samantha was exhausted for two days afterwards.  It was a great day of fellowship.

I was sickened to hear about a little boy who lives in Deerfield Beach, Florida, not too far from the town we live in that was doused with alcohol and set on fire over an argument about a bike and a DVD.  Please keep him and his family in your prayers.  My husband was on his way home from work yesterday and a man was asking for donations for the family.  He was a close friend and he expressed what a horror that this happened.  His own children were right there at the time. What a tragedy.  I try so hard not to live in this "world".

1 John 2:15-17 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passes away, and the lust thereof: but he that does the will of God abides forever.

  • Picture - Update on Melaine

Paul and Anthony Evans This is one of my favorite pictures of my husband.  It was taken at the  South Florida Christian Festival.  It was a wonderful outdoor all-day event where many Christian Artists performed.  It was a very hot June day and we continually had frozen lemonade to cool off :).  This is Paul with Anthony Evans the wonderful singer who always shares a Godly message.  Paul was so excited to have his picture taken with him.  We were blessed to hear the group Salvador and many others before the headliner, Mercy Me was scheduled to perform.  Right before they were to come on stage, the skies opened up and torrential rain accompanied thunder and lightening.  They had to cancel the performance and we all left soaking wet after a wonderful day of fellowship.

    UPDATE ON MELANIE

She is home from the hospital and doing much better.  She may even be out and about soon and able to accept visitors.  Thankfully they were able to give her IV antibiotics before additional surgery to clean out the area.  By the grace of GOD she will not need chemotherapy or radiation. I thank you all for your prayers.

  • Melanie

Please continue praying for Melanie.  This is the report I received regarding her condition from another friend of ours:

"my friend that had the double mastectomy is back in the hospital because a bad infection set in. She is having surgery again today to remove one of the expanders and clean out the infected area. Please keep her in your prayers. I saw her last night, and she is doing well and in good spirits, I just feel bad for her that she has had to go through all of this"

Thank you and may you all have a blessed weekend.

  • Prayers Please

Please keep my friend Melanie in your prayers.  She had a double mastectomy a few weeks ago.  All was going well, however, they removed the drains yesterday and when she got home she had the chills.  She is in the hospital now, so prayers would be appreciated.  Thank you prayer warriors.
